Minnesota author writes a romance set in Minnesota. Cat, a young veterinarian, visits her great-aunt, only to wake up mid-visit to find her aunt passed away in the night. In her will, Cat learns that her aunt left her and her former boyfriend (now a neighbor and renter of her aunt's) some things in her will. The story is quick moving. Characters are likeable.
Rescue Me is a semi short story about Catherine needing a barn to use, so she goes to her great aunts house to use hers. She hasn't been back to her great aunt's farm in ten years. She also hasn't seen her ex-boyfriend in that long either. As soon as she gets back she has some major problems. One her ex-boyfriend is trying to be in the picture. And two, tragedy strikes.
Now Catherine may lose her farm to her ex boyfriend Joe, if she doesn't marry with in ninety days. Catherine isn't sure what she should do now. She and Joe seem to be the perfect match because they have something they both want a part of the farm. The problem is there are some secrets being kept, and lies being told. Not only that but Catherine isn't sure if she should marry Joe, especially if he lied to her.
This book was a somewhat short story in my opinion. It has a nice story line. But I just didn't like either of the main characters. I felt like they were both sort of shallow. And I hated how they lied to each other, and did hurtful things. It really bothered me a lot. So over all the book was okay. It was a nice short read. And I loved the animals in the book, they made the story more interesting!
