Specifically for the audible version - I thought this was an amazingly done production, very immersive. It did really make me want to read Sandra Newman's Julia though! She's such an interesting character...

Yep! A first time read for me. I didn’t get this one in high school. Well, I didn’t go to high school, but that’s another story… I hardly need to review this book because it is so well known, but I will tell you that it definitely impacted me. There are themes in this book which have threads tied and knotted all throughout the life that I know and experience, and this book has helped me identify those threads. The concepts laid out about defining and redefining language in order to formulate and control people and their thoughts were very powerful to me.

This was a very interesting read. There were parts that I enjoyed and parts that I found difficult to maneuver through. I have been wanting to read this from a long time, glad I finally finished it. This book introduces us to a very different and scary world. It does give us a lot to think about.
