This plot is so similar to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or whatever that one was. I liked the history and life of the old lady they are writing the biography of more than I ever liked Evelyn, but I think I'm sort of over this plot device of the duel stories revealed from two directions. I was happy that the added romance plot was not too distracting.

Let me start by saying: I didn’t find this boring like everyone else. But it wasn’t good either. The Emily Henry chemistry between the characters wasn’t there, the connection felt mainly physical. The intertwined genres weren’t smoothly executed.

I loved the story jumps between Margaret’s story and the main one. And Julia Whelan is a treasure and deserves the best!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book however it’s not my favorite Emily Henry book. Something about her writing style and the plot didn’t seem to work together.

Given that I still love the plot.
