I mostly don't think this book needs to exist. It's rather similar to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but with more elements going on and less development. The insta-love between the main characters totally baffled me. The most meaningful part of this was when the main character and her mom work on their relationship. It was easy to read, but it didn't really feel worth the time spent.

Loved it as it progressed, beautiful connection (although very fast paced) between the characters. Beautiful book with great messages but not my favorite

I feel like intellectually I got their relationship (personification of sunshine and grumpy cat fall in love, a beloved trope), but I didn't feel it the same way I have with her other books. I also don't think the banter was quite up to Emily Henry standards, it didn't feel as strong as her books usually are.
Having said that, this book was still fun to read and it absolutely made me cry (not difficult to do). It was interesting to see her write something a bit different. The added layer of the Margaret story was nice and the mystery exciting. I liked so many aspects of the book but it didn't quite add up to what I felt it could have. Definitely still worth the read!
