Friends to lovers, unrequited love, an awful lot of pining!

This is not my fave Talia Hibbert book - she’s great at writing flawed characters who usually feel realistic but the FMC in this was…grating

Pining. This book is fullllll of pining! And angst and wanting. I almost don’t recommend it to anyone who has been in love with a best friend because it’s too real.

Also this book is 75% sex scenes. So take that as a warning or an invitation depending on your preference.

I like a friends to lovers romance and could really appreciate that Rahul—though he loves her—isn’t holding out for her to change her mind or hanging on her every work. He’s a good friend and she’s pretty oblivious, but also with such strong commitment issues.

Jasmine kinda redeems herself but she’s probably my least favorite Hibbert character. I get that she has issues to deal with but that’s also not a reason to treat the people you love poorly. And her whole conflict rested on her silly pride when she could have just asked her dad for help.

I like that their reconciliation was about honesty and communication and Jasmine acknowledging the way she’d been shitty to Rahul.
