3.5 rounded up. It was low angst which I liked. The MC’s were cute together and the side characters were fun. The “mystery” was pretty predictable, but still enjoyable.

Will definitely read more by this author.

So so good. The funny banter sucked me in and bents sweetly stiff personality kept me glued to the book. I loved it. It did feel long at times. I can’t wait for the rest of this series that’s for sure

I didn't really care about the characters, they felt stiff and rigid (harhar) insta-love with dramatic plot, the book felt dated

I listened to the audio book. I liked how formal Bentley sounded. It helped to enhance the description of how formal he was in his dress, mannerisms, and overall character.

There were some witty moments in the book. I liked Emmy's nickname for Bentley. This was an easy listen. I almost immediately knew who the bad guy was in this situation. I was surprised Aiden, Maddox, or Emmy hadn't figured it out. I was surprised Bentley wasn't more suspicious.

After hearing about Emmy's past, I really expected something from her past to crop up when least expected, but it didn't.

There was no "hold your breath" suspense. No huge mystery to solve. Just a kind of easy going romance with likable characters who seem to have paired up in the first book. A nice stress free listen. I would give this book 3.5 stars.

Bentley was swoon-worthy!

Bentley is the introduction book to the Vested Interest series. It was a pretty good audio that I randomly found on Hoopla - and I enjoyed it because it made my boring day at work a LOT better. However, that doesn't mean that I was totally and completely in love with the two main characters. This is mostly because they did do some stuff that annoyed the crap out of me.

In this book you will meet Bentley and his love interest Emmy. Now when they first met, I was laughing so hard. She was the complete opposite of him and he obviously took a liking to her quickly. Yet, there was this big mystery as to why his friend/body guard Aiden was following him. Or why he even needed protection. I loved Emmy's spirit and sass because she gave them both nick names and didn't take their shit. She was the comedic relief when things got way too deep.

Now the whole mystery part was okay. Kind of predictable - especially once Emmy got kidnapped but eh, I still enjoyed the audio. Of course I was shipping these two together, plus the other guys and girls. There's a whole bunch of shipping in this book. The chemistry between these two though was so freaking good. It was hard not to ship them together or to hope that they lasted until the end.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. So much that I already started the second audio today. I hope it's amazing because it's about Aiden and her bestie!!

I spoil some stuff on this review.

Do not read further if you don't wish to be spoiled.

Review:

Cute personalities, especially the heroine, but the relationship made me fall asleep...literally... I was listening to the audio and it was so boring, my brain decided to clock out.

And all that business plot overshadowing the romance wasn't helping either.

I'm not writing off this author cause that meet-cute between the mmc and fmc was actually super cute, she CAN write good chemistry and a good jumping off point, but we just spent too much time on the business life of the hero, which i didn't give 2 shits about, and i also didn't feel the urgency when the heroine was kidnapped.

Usually a hero should go bonkers when something like that happens, and the hero was way too chill for me.

Also the sex scenes were not very...gripping.
