it was from a library and I didn't borrow it, nice book nevertheless, just not a 5 star. I didn't finish the book however, so who am I to judge?

 I read this over quite a long period in small sections because I was worried reading about it would make me more anxious - but mostly, it didn't. I have quite acute death anxiety at times and while this obviously didn't cure it, there were definitely ideas in here that help, and have made me think about things in different ways, and also made me want to read philosophy again for the first time since my degree!
There's a section on his own life which I found less helpful, and I skim-read the final section which is aimed at therapists, but I definitely recommend giving it a go if the subject worries/interests you.

I think this is a very helpful resource for anyone dealing with anxiety of death either because they are experiencing it first-hand or because they are helping someone who is (either as a professional therapist or a friend). In fact, it was recommended by my therapist during a period where I was experiencing some death anxiety, however, by the time I got around reading this book, I was no longer experiencing it so it was no longer super relevant or interesting to me. However, it was still interesting enough with a few useful tidbits to take away that I finished reading.

Not only was is interesting to read his personal exploration, it really is a honest piece of work and has granted me with valuable emotional insight.

شاید از معدود کتاب‌هایی بود که من را به مطالعه به آثار روان‌شناسی علاقه‌مند کرد! من همیشه به متون حوزه روان‌شناسی با شک و تردیدی بسیار نگاه می‌کردم. دلایلش بماند. هنوز هم البته شک و شبه‌ها کمی باقی است. اما باید اعتراف کنم که این کتاب نگاه من را کمی تغییر داد. کتابی است در مورد مرگ. یا در واقع راه‌های غلبه یا کنترل اضطراب ناشی از مرگ که به عقیده نویسنده یکی از ترس‌ها و اضطراب‌های وجودی ماست. به همین دلیل او نام شیوه مطالعه و درمان خود را روان‌شناسی وجودی گذاشته است. شاید با مدعا و مراحل استدلال و نتایج نویسنده مخالف باشید. اما به نظر بصیرت‌های مهمی در این کتاب هست. شخصا سعی می‌کنم کتاب دیگر نویسنده را حتما مطالعه کنم.
