Avevo zero aspettative per questo libro e invece si è rivelata una lettura avvincente, l'ho finito in pochissimo tempo!
L'inizio è stato un po' lento e la trama non era chissà quale originalità, però è scritto bene e la protagonista spacca! Nonostante sia spaventata e insicura si rimbocca le maniche e fa quello che deve per sopravvivere e per far tornare sani e salvi i suoi ragazzi a casa.
È un libro pieno di azione e non annoia mai, ti instilla ansia e inquietudine e ti lascia col fiato sospeso a chiederti se ce la faranno a uscire vivi da lì.
Mi è piaciuto molto il rapporto che si è instaurato tra Heather e i ragazzi e il finale l'ho trovato azzeccato.
Una lettura perfetta se si cerca qualcosa di travolgente!

Adrian McKinty has done it again. What makes his books so disturbing is that they look at the darkest things people are capable of. There are no monsters in the supernatural sense, but the antagonists are so awful that you can't help but feel a complete sense of dread.
My family had to listen to my tirade about this book, so I will not repeat it here.

Interesting premise. Main character was of the type that annoys me: has almost superhuman abilities and instincts and healing despite unconvincing back story. First third was compelling, then it was like beating a dead horse. I can only tolerate so many back to back thrilling survival scenes before I get desensitized.
