I really enjoyed this book; listened for free on KU and thought the narrator did a great job. 3rd person and one narrator isn’t my favorite but it worked here.

I liked how it was told by a series of flashbacks and present day. The flashbacks were just the right length without being too long. Both characters were mature in their feelings and actions and that was refreshing to read. I thought that the daughter was conveniently left out of a lot of scenes, but at least she’s a teen so it’s somewhat justified to not be with her mom 24/7.

It included a pretty good cast of characters, just enough to keep it interesting. The only thing I didn’t really like was how close all the relatives names were Bristol/Brighton, Mila/Monroe, graham/Grady. It was at times confusing to keep track of which one had which personality.
