Never, ever in my life have I ever been so happy that I gave a book a second chance. I DNFed this the first time because of heartbreak. I ADORED Yasnah. When she died, I was devastated. There seemed to be no reason to continue on since there was no one else I truly cared about in the book. When I picked it back up, I'd had time to grieve and I tried it in another format, the GraphicAudio edition.
The format itself added a great deal to my enjoyment. It is full-cast with sound effects and music worthy of a film. I also found that characters to whom I'd previously been indifferent evolved into people I could invest in. On top of that, new characters were introduced who fascinated me.When Yasnah came back at the end, I literally screamed with delight.
