This was sweet, a little spicy, had so much happiness between the couple instead of getting together on the last page, it had conflict without a third act breakup, found family, and a deaf side character with plenty of ASL use.

This was such a good book! The characters and story feel natural and the emotional beats don't feel forced. Often times traumatic or complicated backstories can feel contrived, but the author does a great job conveying the facts in an honest way that allows the depth of emotions to gradually be revealed through her storytelling.

It's such a heartwarming story about healing and finding your place in the world. I stayed up all night reading it even when it had me sobbing at 3am.

This guardianship romance accomplishes a lot in less than 300 pages.

Loved our MCs; they had great depth and development. Loved the deaf representation and seeing an MMC in therapy. If you like stories with a strong FMC, forced proximity, slow burn, an MMC that looks like they would unalive you but is a cinnamon roll, and one that demands you sit on his 👨, I know you’ll love this.

I have heard such great things about this book and I FINALLY had a chance to read it! I really fell in love with Chloe and Warren (and Luke and Willow!) and felt like their characters grew together well throughout the story. The flip from grumpy to in love for Warren was a bit sudden for me, but I was glad to read a book without the 3rd act breakup. I also loved the ASL representation in this book, especially the inclusion that Chloe and Warren always exhibited. I’m excited to read Lane‘s story!
