This is my second book by this author, and I am fully on the bandwagon now. Warren and Chloe are the most perfect pairing of enemies to lovers I’ve ever seen. Like her other book there’s no third act break up and thank you for that. This book is about trust in building connections and letting someone see you for who you really are. It was beautiful and heartbreaking and so real. I just loved that both characters made such a beautiful thing out of a circumstance that many will never experience.

Very cool rep across the board: deafness, foster care, adoption, fetal alcohol syndrome. Despite the story occuring over the course of a single year, the romantic relationship seemed to develop really fast, but i understand how major life changes—such as raising an infant—can bring people together. I also found Warren’s sweet talking a little weird, but that might just be me.

This 5⭐ review is based on vibes only. I giggled and smiled my way through this entire book. Such a lovely and endearing read.

I loved the found family aspect of this romance, including the fact that they talk about foster care. There is also deaf representation, and they practice trauma informed responses.

This is described as a slow burn, but I think they get together after three months? I say this as the same person who was disappointed it took 70% to get to the open door scene. So. I contain multitudes.
