This one did not keep my interest as much as some of the others.
In this book Joe has dealt with several upsetting events in his life. With the disappearance of Opal Scarlett, Joe has ran into someone that looks familiar, but can't place why. This person has set forth to make things hard for Joe, but it's not just Joe he's turned thing on. He has caused hardship for Joe's work ethic, caused issues for his family. At this time I'm not sure how I feel about the ending results of Joe's actions but am hoping that he can recover from them and change how he reacts to certain situations.

This series jumped the shark, and I’m done. I was borderline on continuing, because they’re a little too repetitive as far as plot and themes go, but the human taxidermy was just too stupid.

“In Plain Sight” is my favorite book of the Joe Pickett series thus far. In this action packed plot, Joe continues to seek the truth and do what is right. He is fed up with looking as if he is unable to defend his family and cracks the code of who Bill Monroe truly is. Although he loses something near and dear to him, he won’t lose his daughters and he does something completely out of character in order to serve justice to the man (Monroe) that ultimately messed with the wrong warden.
