Not the Marrying Kind was a wonderful story of two people brought back together by the one thing that unites most of us. Music. For Max and Fiona, music is in their soul and working together to save the music also means learning that what you thought your life looked like, isn't at all. I loved the battles, their wins and how they overcame everything together.

I LOVED this book. I have been excited for Fiona's story since reading Strictly Professional and it did not disappoint. While Fiona and Max seemed like total opposites, they had way more in common than they thought. Watching their relationship transform was so much fun. I laughed, I cried, and I LOVED the steamy scenes. No one does steamy like this author and I mean that in the best way. If you enjoy steamy romances, pick this up ASAP!

A love letter to punk rock music and concerts in the form a sweet & sexy rom-com! Loved it.

Note: This is a spin-off of the book ‘Strictly Professional’ which I would recommend reading first.

What I loved:
•Punk rock music club setting - SO visceral and fun
•Anti-prince charming MC
•Quinn family continues to be the BEST
•Pop: adorable grumpy old man with a soft heart
•Banter and steamy tension

What I didn’t:
•Sex scenes weren’t my favorite in this one for some reason

This book is everything I love about romance! Fiona and Max have great chemistry and are both such engaging characters. I loved the push and pull of this "opposites attract" story, and that Fi and Max balanced each other so well. Beyond being a super sexy and emotional story, this book is a testament to family, community, and hope. It's about coming to grips with your past, accepting risks, and embracing a future that allows every part of you to shine. It's a love letter to classic punk rock, too, and I cannot wait to listen to the playlist the next time I read this story.
*I read this thru the KU program and bought the book as soon as I finished. It's being added to my "when you need a hit of happy" romance collection.

What a great book! I absolutely loved it. I loved that Max taught Fiona how to let loose, relax some rules and really enjoy live more. I loved that Max was open and vulnerable while still maintaining his alpha male side. Shed a few tears but it left me with that sappy happy feeling when they found their HEA.

Kathryn Nolan nailed it again. Meet Fiona in Strictly Professional and you want more. Well she definitely delivered. Such vivid storytelling. Rock on.

This book is why I love reading anything from Kathryn Nolan!

I think Roxy and Edward (Strictly Professional) might have competition from Fiona and Max for my favourite opposites attract couple!

Fiona - a woman after my own heart. Loves lists, plans and spreadsheets galore (I mean, who doesn't?). She has a set plan to find to find a perfect stable husband before she turns 30. But will an instant attraction and spark to a certain nomad bad boy de-rail this?

Max - he really is the cocky bad boy with a heart of gold. Never staying in anyone's bed more than a few nights and living anywhere more than a few weeks, his trip back to New York was supposed to be temporary to help his dad. Yet when he meets straight-laced yet fiery Fiona he can't see to stay away.

As the daughter of touring punk rockers, Fiona just wants a nice stable husband, who as she puts is "Being nice doesn't mean he f**** nice.". And nomad Max is only in town a few weeks to help his dad with his failing bar. They both want different things, and Max isn't the marrying kind....or is he?

No cheating. No cliffhanger. HEA guaranteed.

So this was really cute and fun!!
Fiona, a lawyer with punk rock wild child roots has an iron clad plan to achieve her life goals including a husband before she turns 30. Enter Max, a free spirited, rocker, motorcycle mechanic who is basically a nomad and is more the love them for one night type. They are forced together to save a beloved punk rock concert establishment that's about to fall to "the man" and in the process have to rethink their whole way of life due to their insane attraction to each other.

This book was really refreshing as far contemporary romances go. Fiona is the star of this book for me. Finding FMC's that I absolutely adore is really hard sometimes but I have a huge girl crush on Fiona Quinn. She is savvy, sassy, strong, decisive everything I love! She was vulnerable without being needy or cringy and I loved her punk rock spirit! Max was the perfect MMC to compliment Fiona, he was the bad boy in appreance only bc the dude was a complete cinnamon roll and it was so damn cute! I loved him so much! The chemistry and the initial slow burn was soooo well done.
The writing style, and supporting characters were great, but the real showstopper was the punk rock vibes!!! They mention CBGB many times and the music references alone were so insanely good that I kept stopping to play all the songs as I read.
There were a few side plots that I thought slowed the momentum of the main story but all in all it was a really good read.
