This. Was. Flawless!!!

It's actually fucking criminal that more people haven't read this book.

If you're settling in right now thinking "Oh man I'd love to read something fluffy but also with a lot of heart, hilarious but with great character development, fuckin filthy yet not porn without plot, banter but not without substance, and about opposites who attract but also discover how much they have in common..."

Well bitch, this book is for you.

10/10 fucking flawless I loved every single minute of it. I think I highlighted 99% of the book. And this will be one of those great re-readers for me, because even the time they weren't technically together yet wasn't a bunch of push-pull hurry up and get together already!!! typa stuff.
Every aspect of Fiona and Max's relationship was *chefs kiss*

Read this book goddamnit!

Fiona Quinn, the type A lawyer daughter of two punk rockers, wants to be married by 30 and knows exactly who she’s looking for: career driven, roots in NYC, also wants to get married. She didn’t count on running into Max, the care-free, goes where the road takes him, bad boy son of the owner of the punk rock club where her parents play each week. Together Max and Fiona team up to throw a benefit concert to save the club, which is behind in rent and may have to close if their plan doesn’t work.

What I loved:

I love the flirting and hilarious banter between the two. The sexual tension was A+. When they do finally give into those sparks, it’s explosive. It was a treat to watch each realize maybe they’ve been wrong about what or who they wanted all along.

I love all the secondary characters, especially Max’s dad who has his own adorable love story unfolding on the side. The music scene was a delight to read about, in a time when we can’t gather, at least we can read about it! It really took me back to my younger day hanging out in dark, dirty bars where the only thing that matters is the music.

I also loved the epic ending! Truly memorable.

What I didn’t love:

The reason this a five star read for me is that Max mentions “the road” and his “itchy feet” about every second paragraph. It was too much and I thought I was going to throw my kindle if he mentioned it one more time. If this had been edited to cut the mention of how he doesn’t want to settle down it would have been an easy five stars, but I couldn’t rate it 5 when I hated the hero about half the time.

This was a very sweet book of two characters that simply just click. The dualities in their personalities were very endearing and made them a great match. The ending felt a little rushed, but I loved it nonetheless. I hope they're happy and have tons of babies they go on roadtrips with.

Kathryn Nolan never disappoints. A crusty cinnamon roll of a biker and a driven lawyer awash in organizational tools spark from the moment they meet again. The portrayal of vulnerability in both of them reminds me of my own experiences. Throw in great family and friends and absolutely fantastic music, and I smiled throughout the entire book. I found joy in this book.
