I’ve been reading this series online and it’s definitely not for Critical Thinkers, people who care about mythology, good storytelling or romance. The romance and anything important is heavily sped through while any filler is dragged out making the pacing weird. All Lore Olympus has going for it is the art although just barely. Looking at Rachel Smythe’s other comic Wonder Woman: Black & Gold along with her other work she’s barely putting effort in Lore Olympus.

Also I’m not going to get into the triggers much since they were all poorly handled and were only introduced for cheap drama or to make Hades look like the better man. Talk about insensitive concerning the SA.

This books deals with serious issues, that need to be addressed more. There are very dark themes, be warned some of theme deals with generational trauma, child abuse and sexual assault. I loved watching the art grow as the story did

The art is beautiful. I like the palette and art style. I don't like how over-exaggerated the proportions of the female characters are and interesting how the gods all walk on the ball of their feet. Also, Demeter, Persephone’s mom, is Hera's sister, not friend.

I like that the elements of Greek mythology (the amount of sexual content and sexual assault and sly behaviour) is illustrated and addressed here rather than brushed off.

I absolutely loved the first volume of Lore Olympus. Would've read it all in one sitting if I didn't have other things to do. But such is life, etc.

The art style is gorgeous, the colours are beautiful, the dialogue is funny. And the plot is light, dark, and heartbreaking. So it's got everything I love in a sequential art, really.
Well, except for the gays. Where are the gays, Rachel Smythe? This is Greek mythology, we're talking about.

Speaking of Greek mythology, for someone who was (sort of) writing a book based on it and generally obsessed with Greek myths and deities from a young age I really remember umm not much at all. So this was fun, but I feel like I need to brush up on the subject matter to better appreciate the intricacies. Alas, I shall not do it. In the words of Michael Gary Scott, "Wish I could, but I can't. Well can, but I won't. Should, maybe, but shorn't". Priorities and all that.

I definitely wasn't expecting things to get so heavy this early on, and it absolutely wrecked me. But I think it was well handled, and a very accurate representation of such a situation and the aftermath.

Highly recommend if you like the Greek pantheon, beautiful art, and serialised storytelling.

The artist did an amazing job, beautiful drawings and colour use. Story broke my heart. Can't wait to order the next one.

The art is beautiful and the concept is good, but the story is very similar to a soap opera and with that kind of story comes strange plot decisions. Overall not bad, I'm still going to read all of it, even if I don't like the direction of the plot.

Lore Olympus proved to be a delightful and swift read. The characters were enjoyable, and I intend to continue with the rest of the series. It serves as a g eat go-to "just for fun" book, offering a light read between more intense ones.
