Seriously, I need to just stop trying to listen to an audiobook. Once again, I started with an audiobook doing household chores and once again, when the chores were done, I had to download it and read it to finish it. I am too impatient to finish an audiobook!

Noah meets Alice when he is on a solo trip to Thailand. Alice is there teaching. Even though it is Thailand, they are both from Australia. Right away, they have this firework instant chemistry and attraction.

Noah, sadly, returns home to Australia where he runs his family's restaurant business. It is heartbreaking as he does not know if/when they will see each other again. A tragic family event, however, sends Alice back to Australia where she is not too far from where Noah lives. They reconnect but their pasts come to haunt them.

The story goes from both Noah and Alice's POV and it is very easy to follow. I found the story had a lot of emotion in it. While I deep down knew what was happening in the disappearance of Lizzy, I was anxious to read how it all played out. It was also apparent from the beginning what Alice's big secret was. This did not stop me from reading. It came together really well and I enjoyed the podcast aspect throw in.

While this was a murder mystery, it was also a love story and I could not help absolutely loving these two main characters and rooting them on to find a happily ever after.

Definitely a solid 4 stars. I had watery eyes in the last chapter for sure.

Loved it. It has great characters with strong personalities and characteristic. I loved the characters and wanted the best for them in their life hoping everything would work out. It had nice mixture of crime, love, family and trust and also secrets that needed telling. Loved every bit of it this story kept me guessing right to the end. Would recommend this to others.

Alice and Noah meet in Thailand before Noah has to rush home to attend the inquest into his brother's girlfriend's disappearance twelve years ago. Alice has her own traumatic past.

If I had a dollar for each time Alice or Noah thought "I should tell him/her the full story but I'm not ready" I would be a rich person. This is my least favourite form of story telling. I want suspense to come from what the characters are feeling, but neither of the characters are feeling suspense. They know the secret they're hiding, while the other character is oblivious. Alice's secret was immediately obvious and Noah's was just lame.

It was a quick read, and I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't recommend it. 2.5 stars rounded down.

I’d say this was more 3.5 tbh. I hate abrupt endings that essentially wrap things up but don’t really. But the premise and storyline was intriguing.

I love a book with solid pacing however the pacing of this book was too fast for my liking. As a result the vibe and immersiveness of this book was lacking.

Although it took me a little while to get into this, once I got going I literally couldn't put it down. Full of tension and suspense. A great Aussie thriller.
