Interesting book about the Operation ending with the death of Usama bin Laden but also about USA´s ongoing War on Terror, the challenges in becoming a SEAL and other aspects of a life in the military.

I've owned this book for years...not sure why it took so long to get to it. Growing up a Navy brat, it's still surprised me how sheltered and unaware I am, as a civilian. I hoped this book would help me gain some insight, and it did.
This was also one of the books I chose for the RAT's. After finishing this book, I've completed 2 challenges: finish a book in one day & read about a character very different from you

Fantastic read, highly recommend reading.

At first, I was much more interested in the mission to kill Bin Laden than I was about this man's autobiography. I was disappointed in the beginning that the format seemed to be alternating chapters of the mission and the author's life. I was quick to change my mind when I started reading about the seriousness and difficulty of Navy Seal training. I really respect this guy and the sacrifices he made.

Good book and an easy read. It was a story that needed to be told. Now you can read the truth instead of the media's version.

A very quick read. Gave general details about the mission of killing Osama bin Laden. For those interested in how military missions work or the pomp and circumstance of success, this would be a great read.

The last part of this book, when the Bin Laden raid is described, is amazing and exciting; the rest of the book is a little too much "filler" for me. I enjoyed reading the parts about the physical tests of endurance, strength, and stamina the SEALS training demands from the human body (the *male* human body…grrrrr), and the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips. Gaps in my knowledge about Bin Laden were filled in here and it was refreshing to get them from a point-of-view other than the mainstream media. Although the book was heavily censored, etc. by the powers that be for security reasons, the spirit of the ultimate mission shone through. Reading about all of the time and effort and training that this team and the connected teams and departments went through to complete this, I'll say that my stomach turned a little reading the President's speech at the end. I hate politics. Three and a half stars.
