Interesting concept and super easy to read while still being engaging. There are obvious themes of government control, propaganda and misdirection, as well as trust and compassion.
I thought Jen was an interesting character. She is very young and her passion got the best of her. I couldn't help but think about the revolution in Les Mis, and how similar this scenario is to that. I also thought about the differences between Jen's attempt to change things and Valentine and Peter's attempt in Ender's Game. There are a lot of similarities as far as world structure and challenges faced, but there is far more innocence and naivete in this story.

I read this as a kid so the nostalgia factor is there, but the fact that the story and characters are memorable is a testament to the writing.
i read this when i was maybe..... 12? or 13? i remember it being a really good book and honestly i'm probably due for a reread XD
A good book to pre-read before Isaac read it. I think I'll have to read the whole series now.
