only giving this 4 stars because it was SO SAD! it was an extremely riveting read, from the meet, the situation happening in the Now, and the contrasting LIGHT AND JOY in the Then. I could not predict how they were going to save the marriage, but I never lost hope and only felt more for both characters as the story went on. How this book was structured made it so easy to read. But man oh man, when that 50% hit, I needed to take a breather before jumping back and forth between happy times and sad times. I loved the premise, the resolution, and everything in between. My eyes were swollen this morning, but I regret nothing.

I could tell the man was going to have an affair and I just truly hate reading about cheating. I looked it up online and he does, indeed, have an affair. Checking the end of the book, it looks like it ends in HEA, but I just couldn’t make myself read it once I knew there was an affair between the main romance

emotional sad

A heartbreaking book about love that is tested to its limits. I enjoyed the switch between past and present, even though it created sort of a roller-coaster of emotions through the chapters. While I don't condone or justify what either of the characters did, I understand their reasoning, so I appreciate that the author gave them both emotional depth. As most CoHo books, this one deals with heavy topics, so make sure to read the content warnings beforehand.

I'm not going to lie the first half of this book I didn't really gravitate towards. It wasn't bad or anything. It was an easy read. It's just in the first half it felt like there was more sex than substance. It wasn't until I got to the second half (page 153ish maybe). It was the chapter where
Graham cheats on Quinn is when I got invested. And for me it just got better from there.
That's when I started to see more substance in their relationship that was contained from both the "then" and "now" perspectives. Their was relationship was finally showing some depth to me and I could see why they feel in love with one another. But what really sold me was
the letters that Graham had written to Quinn. All this time I wanted to here Graham's perspective in all this and I'm so happy I got to have it.
The ending was very satisfying to me and I feel like it tied the story up nicely. Now I still really can't get passed the stuff in the first half. Graham was a little iffy for me and I felt like he was coming on too strong. And I didn't think Quinn was all there either. I didn't really feel her love for Graham. Personally I'm not one for smut/spice and that was basically what the first half of the book consists of. Even though I couldn't be passed some of the weird stuff that happened in the beginning
they had sex with an expired condom. Like come on, how horny can you be?!
I did think this book was a nice read. If this whole book was like the second half it might've been a 5 star read for me.
