This book. This freakin book, ya'll!

I admit that objectively, this may not be a 5 star read. Subjectively, however, this book broke me and we all know how much I love a good sob inducing story!

All Your Perfects follows Quinn & Graham as they first meet, fall in love, and push through the ups and downs of marriage. Told in alternating timelines of past & present, THEN chronicles their early love, while NOW documents their struggle through infertility. Quinn yearns to be a mother, but is unable to conceive and watching her struggle through depression was so freakin hard to read about. Sometimes you can want something so bad in life, with your whole entire being, and that is still not enough.. then not getting it will throw your entire life onto a different path you now have to adjust and adapt to. Throw in a spouse to the mix and the situation is that more complicated.

This book had me in a chokehold of tears and sobs all the way through. My heart completely broke many times over whilst reading.

I think Colleen served a delicate balance of the past & present timelines. Watching Graham and Quinn fall in love, although the meet cute was rather wild, was sweet to see. I was rooting for them the entire time and I'm happy with how this one ended.

Graham Wells must be protected at all costs!!!

Didn’t really enjoy this book like I thought I would. Hated Quinn’s character. She was just way too selfish in my opinion. Even when you have all of the heartbreak and emotional trauma she has, you should never treat your spouse the way she treated Graham. Her avoidance to fix their marriage was just irritating, especially when she complained about it not being how it used to be. Granted, I am not at the point in my life to what children, nor have I gone through the losses of trying for one. So maybe this book just didn’t make sense to me. I wonder if it would if I had read this a bit later in life?

as all coho books do, this book has left me thinking and reflecting. i’m stuck in a limbo of loving and hating the characters. but if anything, i think that just shows how great colleen’s writing is. in all honesty, i found their marriage quite frustrating at times. their lack of communication and quinn’s lost sight of their marriage was something that i found difficult to read through at times. however, the then chapters were spectacular. the tension and love between quinn and graham was unmatched and watching how their relationship has changed and evolved was truly eye opening.

While All Your Perfects isn’t especially terrible (Maybe Someday still holds the spot as my least favorite CoHo novel) and I do think it handles Quinn’s infertility with enough respect, it just didn’t stir that many emotions in me and it wasn’t nearly as three-dimensional as CoHo’s other books. Plus, the infidelity and the overabundance of blatant sorrow are just a little too much. Seriously, why are these elements so thoroughly present in CoHo’s bibliography? I know people have criticized the ending for coming across as rushed, but I’m actually okay with it, particularly the hopeful epilogue. This may not be a CoHo read that I’ll recommend to others, but I don’t regret consuming it myself as an aspiring CoHo completionist.
