I probably should have reread the first book before I jumped into The Deck of Omens, because there are a lot of characters here and I don't remember who's who. But after a while I got into it. A decent sequel.

What a conclusion this was! I enjoyed The Devouring Gray but found this sequel book to be much more fast-paced and engaging with high stakes. The characters from the first book are built upon and explored in amazing ways and the lore of Four Paths is amazingly explained; this was a great sequel and conclusion to the duology.
