Decent thriller which kept you guessing

I was there for the book towards the beginning but as it went on it was just lacking.
I stopped caring about the story it was missing something to keep my attention. It got really boring.

4 Stars • One in Four by Lucinda Berry is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. It follows Dr. Laurel Harlow, a therapist on a reality show where ex-child stars tackle addiction under the spotlight. When a murder hits the set, the twists and dark secrets keep you glued to the page. Berry’s psych background makes the trauma and drama feel raw and real, and the alternating timelines add a juicy layer of suspense.

Laurel is a dependency therapist currently working with ex-child stars on a reality show. She’s good at her job because she had a past that included addiction. When one of her clients ends up dying and detectives are looking at her as a suspect all at the same time that her past that comes back to get her …

Big fan of Lucinda Berry, so I was very excited for a new book. So excited that I read this in under 24 hours, but I ended up needed to sleep on my review because I wasn’t sure if I read too quickly or if parts were missing for me. I ended up with more questions than answers with this book. Below you can find some of the questions coursing through my mind.

Questions that may have spoilers, proceed at your own risk!
• What happened to the rest of Maddie’s story? Does anyone figure out what actually happened to her?
• Noelle - WTF? Why was she so easily fooled?
• Gia was from Germany? How could she manage to get all of this done just to kill Laurel? If she were Paige’s sister - how’d she end up in Germany?
• Paige never killed herself, how was this information missed?

I feel like this was two to three stories trying to be one - the therapy house, Laurel’s past, & what I loving call “WTF NOELLE” - lots of loose ends, so I’m just hoping for it be to a series.

I think the story had really good bones, but the ending is the reason why ultimately gave this book the 3 stars.
