Somehow, a short review:

So much of a trippy, disorienting, mesmerizing, bewildering surprise! All of that mega-corp-hating, pseudo-zealous, existentially-intoxicated sci fi that I love. Lasers and aliens and the definition of identity! Time travel (maybe???) and evolution (maybe???) and perversion of faith (maybe???)! Unexpected and satisfying, while still ambiguous and nonsensical. Unhinged and uncomfy and problematic, but also hilarious and relatable and epic.

I really like when stories handle apocalyptic stakes on a very intimate, individual level. And this does.

I really enjoyed it, flaws and all. Like life.

Took me a long time to get through the first half, but the second half sped up. I don’t think I grasped all the implications but I’m sure I’ll be thinking about this for a long time to come.

The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch is an example of PKD being on his bs in a really good and interesting way. Paranoia, drugs, questioning reality, encountering something divine. All these elements make for a good adventure story with an unsettling ending.
