i really don’t think i have the words to express how i truly feel about this book! this was my first sapphic book, and boy was it such a perfect one to start with! the character development throughout the story was one that was relatable, believable, and touching! she really has reminded me of myself, while also inspiring me to be true to me!! i am truly blessed that this book was recommended to me bc i don’t think i would have picked it up. this is definitely a book that i will not stop thinking about for a long time!! highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this is why i love historical fiction, i learned so much through the mc’s personal experience. i also love reading about lesbians with a different experience to my own, intersectionality is so important when understanding what it means to be queer. that first kiss scene, i will never forget it. oh i love being a lesbian, our love is beautiful and this really made me feel proud of the community. i’m lucky to be surrounded by other women who love women in my life, AND I CAN KISS MY GF IN PUBLIC. my heart hurts for those who had to hide their love, painted as deviants. can you tell this book impacted me emotionally?
