Advanced copy received by author in exchange for my honest review.

You are first introduced to Dylan’s character in Complex Kisses and, unfortunately, he does not come off well in that book. He is portrayed as a jealous ex who is unable to let the past go, and as a result is jeopardising his future.
Due to this I was not overly excited, upon receiving the ARC, to find out that the next book in the series was his. I couldn’t see what more could possibly be told about this selfish, immature person.
I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG ABOUT HIM!!!!!
I knew nothing about this storyline or what the future held in store for Dylan and I am beyond pleased that this was the case.
This novella is a prelude to his full book, due later in the series. It follows him over the course of a year as he suffers through get together after get together thrown by Jamie’s new in laws. He does it all with his son in mind and in the hope that he will finally win Jamie around.
These hopes are completely dashed however when Eric proposes to her.
During these gatherings we are introduced to not one but two new characters. The first is Chante, or Chantal depending on your preference. There is chemistry between them both straight away but nothing comes of this. You are left wondering when the two will meet again and when you will get to see more from them.
The next introduction couldn’t be any more different to the first. At the next gathering, a New Years Eve party thrown again by Jamie’s in-laws, Eric finds himself yet again standing on the periphery, not part of what is going on around him, just observing the other guests. It is during this time that he is approached by Sean, a professional athlete who is friends of the family. Friendly, banterous conversation leads to a huge amount of chemistry between the two, showing off a side of Dylan not evident until this point. Helping to turn him into a more three dimensional, interesting character, the encounter is short and sweet, leaving you are the reading desperate for more.
Over the course of the next few chapters the story alternates between Chante and Sean, each meeting getting steamier and steamier, until the inevitable happens. It had been building up to this throughout the whole book and it finally happens. The three agree to meet together.
Taking control of the situation Dylan arranges to meet them both, explaining to each of them that he is also meeting another, and opens up the possibility of more.
Their meeting is everything I hoped it would be and more. It had me on the edge of my seat, not able to read quick enough for my own mind. The whole chapter was carefully written and was the right amount of explicit and the right amount of sexy.
Normally I would stay far away from Novella’s as I find them to be highly dissatisfying but this is the exception to the rule for me. It was the perfect length to keep me hooked and desperate to read the full length novel. Kim Bailey cannot write it quick enough!!!

This was a short sexy read. I haven't read any books by Kim Bailey before, but I enjoyed this one. It is a Novella, so it's super short. I typically do not read or even like Novellas, just because I prefer longer books. This was a great one, and the characters had a depth to them. It is told in first person, Dylan's perspective. I would have loved to had these be a full book, but I understand it has it's place in the series. Thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Unconventional love is still love

Novella- Book 3 (Be sure to read Complex Kisses and Fairytale Kisses first to avoid spoilers). Admittedly, I didn’t like Dylan when we first met in Complex Kisses. This novella is the perfect insight to his heart and mind. And firmly plants him in my heart as a guy I really like. And bats the beauty of Illicit Kisses and Kim’s character development. Perfect people don’t exist, so neither should perfect characters.

Super hot! I did not like Dylan in Complex Kisses. I thought he was a total jerk and kind of arriving to the party late, while blaming others for his tardiness. This story if his had me totally changing my opinion of him. I still feel like he was placing blame at the beginning, but then as the story went on he stopped blaming and started making decisions and taking responsibility. I also like that he finally stopped worrying about what the rest of the people thought of him. As soon as he stopped caring, they all started noticing positive changes in him.

I feel like he still has some room to grow, but this showed a HUGE change in him and I was so impressed!
