This book is DIVINE! I yearned to keep reading and yet I didn’t want it to end! I am very glad the sequel is coming soon because I want more!
It is a story about the power of love to overcome any barrier and why we shouldn't postpone joy even though the world around us is crumbling. The writing is exquisite; the author’s words are so beautifully crafted; honest, raw, and true.
The letters Iris and Roman write to each other are my favorite part. I want to have a few of them framed on my wall.

maybe my fav book of 2023???this might be my fav read of the year! the academic rivals to lovers trope is so perfect in this book! my heart was torn to pieces, but i was left NEEDING more !! so here i am, restlessly and anxiously waiting for ruthless vows to release.

”Sometimes strength isn’t swords and steel and fire, as we are so often made to believe. Sometimes it’s found in quiet, gentle places. The way you hold someone’s hand as they grieve. The way you listen to others. The way you show up, day after day, even when you are weary or afraid or simply uncertain.”

Well this just broke me. It was incredible. Great writing (I highlighted so many passages), fantastic world building, and remarkable character work. This didn’t feel like a YA novel at all.

Looking forward to book 2.
