Dayum I actually liked the Red Queen series. I enjoyed the first book as much as the second one. (Not really but yeah).

I was even exited when this one came out. But reading it. It was a pain in the ass. So I just want to add that I don’t really like what I call “Sluggishbooks”. Where it takes at least a quarter of the book to come to “good” part. And this was a SB. I didn’t enjoy the part when Mare where prisoner. Nothing exiting. No tension. In MY opinion.

I hope that the next book is better. Because those slooooooowww parts killed my enthusiasm. Nearly every book with those parts kill my joy....

So yeah...

This series just keeps getting better. There was a lot of action to keep us on our toes and the multiple perspectives we get help shape a full picture of everything going on which I enjoyed. I haven’t been a huge fan of Mare so far in the series but so much of her character line has to do with her growth and I do appreciate that for the overarching storyline. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting more of the relationship between Mare and Cal. We really can see the connection and feeling they have for each other which hadn’t been as clear up until this point. Overall, this book was a real turning point in this series and does a great job of setting us up for the finale, even if it left me a bit angry.

3.5⭐️
Recensione completa✨

Maven’s obsession with Mare is a little lacking in description. There is explanation to his emptiness, but more depth would add to Maven’s character. At times, it’s easy to forget he exists. Evangeline’s character has become significantly more interesting and I look forward to the next book to see what develops. As for Cal’s final decision. Not surprised. The same for the previous two books in the series, the ending is T’d up for the next edition of the series.

There were a couple of scenes in the book that didn’t seem to add much to the story or character development. Luckily those scenes weren’t drawn out.

So far, this has been my favorite book in the series. But first, let me just say that Mare still annoys me. One BIG problem I had with this book was so-called "character development." During Mare's chapters, I didn't see much, if any, character development. When it came to the other character's POV chapters, they talked a lot about her character development. It wasn't really shown very well, it was more like they told the audience what was happening. Other than that, I enjoyed this book. I thought the plot was interesting and I really enjoyed the new POVs .

I like this book more then the first 3. The plot twists we great and made you fall even more in love with the characters. I found this ending to be different for this series then the rest in a good way. I can't wait to finish the rest of the series with one book left. This has been a great series from book one. I realized now that I have read more into the series I understand the prequel a lot better now.

UGH I LOVE IT I HATE IT IDK
