Not my favorite book out of the series. 3/4 of the book are Mare in captivity and it’s very slow and hard to get through. The different chapter perspectives are very interesting to read and I really liked reading Cameron and Evangeline’s POV. Evangeline is now one of my favorite characters and shoutout to the lgbtq representing in the book. Once all the action came the book still felt slow to read and took me a while to get through. Overall 3/5 stars

Enjoyed Red Queen and Glass Sword enough (3 star reads) that I thought I’d move on to the next in the series. I could not get into this. I tried switching to audio to see if that would help but trying to force myself to read it just ended up putting me into a reading slump for months.
The story is really unexpected. I became very curious about the next story. What will happen?

Fuck Cal. That’s it, that’s the review. I literally hate him. Fuck him and his crown. I don’t like Maven and he’s crazy af but at least he doesn’t lie (anymore) about wanting the crown. Just ugh, fuck Cal.
