I would've liked a little more character development before they jumped into sleeping together, but I guess no one reads stuff like this for character development, right? =P That said, it was interesting, sassy, and sexy. I like how Colt and Hailey push each other and how their chemistry flairs up, and I can't wait to see how the story pans out - that's one heck of a cliffhanger. Also, can I just say, kudos for making Hailey a larger woman? I mean, I don't know HOW large she is exactly, but she makes it pretty clear that she's not skinny, not a small girl, and that's totally refreshing, because I've read way too many books where the woman (and the man too, technically) is model-perfect. It's nice to see a different type of female beauty represented here. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

There isn't a lot of hate in this book. But it is a fast, sexy read.

So yesterday I saw this book appear in my timeline ALOT. I didn't plan to start this but Lisa™ twisted my arm with her updates. Call me judgy but the title didn't give me a first impression that was complimentary but after reading the blurb I promptly shut my mouth and purchased immediately.

This book contains subjects I love in a book:
*A Love/Hate relationship
*A Strong tortured Hero/ Feisty prissy Heroine
*A Good plot to steam ratio
*And a Dirty Mouth!

The owner of said dirty mouth is Cole Parker, Ex- Military now fixer with The Horus Group in the private sector. The target of aforementioned mouth, Hailey Dashford Reid. She would like nothing more than to distant herself from her train wreck of a family. The latest scandal sees them requiring the skills of Cole's PR expertise.

Although introductory it's a great start to the series and although not a cliffhanger of epic proportions, I'm looking forward to my next Hate F*@k.

Note: This ARC was provided by Victory Editing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Hailey Reid and Cole Parker know they should keep their distance from one another. Hailey doesn't like being bossed around by the man who's trying to manage the clusterfuck her father and now her older sister have gotten themselves into. Cole is very much aware that Hailey is the daughter of their company's client and he knows that he pushes her buttons when he tries to manage her. But try as they might, there's much more going on between them beneath the surface, and they can't avoid it for much longer.

Hailey wishes she could distance herself from the scandals that have rocked her family but that's what happens when you carry a family name that's gossiped about relentlessly. She refuses to rely on her family's money and has been living independently but she's called in to perform her familial duty to be there for her family in the middle of one crisis after another. Working with The Horus Group, specifically Cole Parker, their CFO (aka the Chief Fuck-You Officer) was something she did not sign up for.

Cole is an ex-Navy SEAL and has seen and done things that have hardened him as a human being, but all that training and experience never prepared him for the likes of one Hailey Dashford Reid. She's nothing like the spoiled women who come from money he's come across. She doesn't feel entitled nor does she expect people to serve her hand and foot. She's a good person...and he wants her...badly. He's been trying to stay away from her but the temptation that is Hailey is too much for even him to resist.

As they begin to allow themselves to give in to their desires, Hailey sees that there's more to Cole than the cold, detached man that he appears to be. As much as Cole wants something more with Hailey, he's more than aware of the kind of life he's led and continues to lead. He doesn't want her to be touched by the darkness that seems to shadow him. When he's called away after their first night together, Hailey is left wondering if his moves to get closer to her were all because of an unthinkable ulterior motive.

Okay, I knew going in that this was going to end in a cliffhanger. After all, it was only 80 pages long and was the first in a three-part serial of the first story in The Horus Group series by author Ainsley Booth. Still, the frustration was there, as is the case with all good stories that end in cliffhangers, and though there was no hate, I did end up saying f*@k after reading Hate F*@k: Part One. I'm definitely hooked, my curiosity skyrocketing, and now I really, really, REALLY need more of Hailey Reed and Cole Parker.

This book was more than the usual good girl and bad boy falling for one another. It had a mystery thriller aspect to it that I very much appreciate. Of course, it had a lot of steam but it had a story that left me wanting even more and characters that were worth knowing. Hate F*@k: Part One set me up but in a totally good way because it opened the door to an entire tale that looks like it's worth investing the time and patience in. March seriously can't come soon enough! This scorcher gets 4.5 stars, rounded off to five stars for Goodreads. ♥

I seriously feel like I read an entirely different book than everyone else. I see reviewers giving this book high praise and glowing recommendations while I sit here at a loss on the last page just blinking my eyes in confusion. What the heck did I just read?

The characters were dull and hate each other but we don’t really know the real reason to the hate. They are attracted to each other though and have some steamy and smutty scenes together. Then we have an ending that leaves you on a cliffhanger of sorts. Hailey was snobby and came across as better-than-thou. Cole was a dirty talking bad boy but protective and secretive. This book was just s hot mess for me.
