Given that I never did manage to finish her other book either, I don't know what I expected. For some reason, her writing just doesn't work for me.

Taková jednohubková záležitost na jeden večer. Já vím, jsem rozmazlená Kingem, ale stejně jsem čekala něco víc. Promrhaný potenciál, v rukou někoho jiného a s větším obsahem by to mohl být super námět. Ale takhle...Reakce dětí jsou úplně mimo, nějaké strašidelné prvky se nekonají. Zjevení nějaké duchařské entity je popsáno zhruba stejně, jako když na scénu přijde do pokoje kočka. Žádný level děsivosti, možná jen snaha určitou částí šokovat, ale i ta snaha se ztrácí v tom, jak špatný je zbytek...
Možná bych i dala tři hvězdy, ale dávám dvě proto, že mě štve ten potenciál, co to mělo a jak s ním bylo naloženo.

3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! Tara and Kyle’s mom was in a car accident that left her hospitalized. Since their mom was hospitalized and unable to communicate, they were sent to live with their grandparents, May and Peter, whom they never met. When they arrived, they felt like they would be fine living with their grandparents. Little did they know that the house had ghosts and their grandparents were a little “different”. As time went on, Tara and Kyle realized things are not what they seem and they had to figure out a way to get out. I enjoyed Darcy Coates writing and overall I liked the book.

Listen... we love a creepy grandparent...

This was so creepy. Probably the most atmospheric of any of the books that I've read from her. It starts slow, but really ramps up the pace and the creepiness. This was a quick read and the audiobook was fantastic!
