I loved this book!!! What an amazing, tense, romantic, devastating, wonderful end to the Letters of Enchantment duology.

Iris and Roman just have my heart. I literally adore them and they are absolutely some of my favorite book characters ever written. They were always true to themselves BUT still grew with the story as dynamic MCs. It was literally amazing to read an entire “series” and never once think “would that character really do that or think that way?”. The other characters were also enjoyable to follow, both from the first book and new characters to this book. A really great “cast” if you will.

The story is just heart-wrenching in all the right ways. What a phenomenal plot and ending. I never knew which would be the “true” ending until it was happening. There was a good mix of slow parts and fast paced parts to really keep me steadily interested and coming back to read more of the story. The writing is amazing, and I really love reading Iris and Roman’s letters. To think of someone writing to me that way makes me sob.

And the romance. I loved it. This book has made me realize that I am absolutely a fade to black girl when done correctly. And Miss Ross did just that!!! The scenes were so beautifully written, so emotional with the language. I love love loved it.

10000/5 stars. Not one single complaint, and that is a hard feat!!!

“Let me be your secret, then. Tuck my words into your pocket. Let them be your armor.”

I literally have no words. How do you explain something that totally captured your heart with its beauty and pain and held you captive until the very last page?

“Maybe that is too much to hope for. But I find that I am leaning more on the side of impossibility these days. I am leaning toward the edge of magic.”

I love how Ross wove together the fight for love and  peace with the reality that it comes at a cost. That freedom is ever truly free and the only way we fight it is because we love.

“But I must remind myself that sometimes we write for ourselves and sometimes we write for others. And sometimes those lines blur when we least expect them to. Whenever such happened in my past…I remember that I have only been strengthened by it.”

Love wins. Every time, in every way. And I think that’s what makes this series so beautiful. The joy in the sorrow, the love in the pain, and the moments of peace when in the midst of chaos.

“The magic still gathers, and the pet is gilded; I see the beauty in what has been but only because I have tasted both sorrow and joy in equal measure.”

I love it. I love this series.
It’s an easy five stars for me!
