I devoured this over two nights (the first; I had to force myself to put it down before 3am), which I’m certain is not the way this sort of story should be read. I get the feeling it’s to be taken slowly, a chapter-per-night sort of scenario - but I couldn’t help myself.

I’ll be thinking of them for a long time.

Short, atmospheric novel. I like what the narrator says about wanting to be seen, instead of being someone else's eyes. Reminded me of Samuel Beckett's Malone Dies and I'm not totally sure why? I think I liked it, but it also didn't make a huge impression on me. It's probably not one I'm going to remember.

3.5 ⭐ ein sehr kurzes Buch, bei dem nicht wahnsinnig viel passiert (einige Aspekte hätten auf jeden Fall noch ausgebaut werden können) und in dem sehr nüchtern erzählt wird, aber irgendwie macht genau das die Geschichte auch schön und besonders? Ich kanns ganz schwer beschreiben, aber dieses Buch war gleichzeitig elegant und ruppig, schön und trist, spannend und langweilig.
