This was a quiet novel, often with beautiful, yet simple, writing. My problem was I wanted more. More inferiority or something. This is the kind of litfic that I enjoy, but don’t entirely get. Loved the Korean cultural aspects in this - I’ve actually been to Sokcho in the offseason and could vividly imagine it.

This book was well-written in simple language that painted vivid images of the harsh winter landscape of Sokcho. I wasn't a huge fan of the MC and felt that the author planted a lot of seeds for interesting an character but there was no character development. My main issue with this short story was the lack of real conflict, stakes, and as such resolution. It was more of a vignette in the life of a seemingly unmotivated character's life.

it was very monotonous and detached, and at times it felt like reading someone else’s to-do list. the only parts of the writing i somewhat liked was whenever theres food and when the author’s describing a place or the weather. other than that its just bland. i fell asleep thrice while reading this
