This book was fine. I wasn't blown away, but it was absolutely fine.

I don't think it was particularly well written but it was sweet. The main character is likeable (his mother, not so much), and I didn't guess who the murderer was, while it was still (mostly) plausible. So that's a plus. I've read worse.

If you want a cosy murder story, sure, try this one.

Nothing seemed to happen in this for the first 100 pages and I ended up feeling really frustrated. But I persisted and ended up really enjoying it. Would read another by the same author.
