I give it 3.5 stars…this is my 3rd Kinsella book and I think her characters aren’t my favorite…rather self absorbed and obnoxious. I did like the friendships that bloomed and shone in the second half of the book though.
When I don’t know what to read, can always count on a. Sophie kinsella book to keep me entertained
During the few first chapters of this book, I honestly could not stand Ava. She seemed so flighty and her friends could hardly keep her focused on anything. Once she started dating Dutch/Matt, I started cringing at how frustrated I was with all of the dynamics. But I was far enough into the book, that I decided to keep going. Once I was about 3/4 of the way through, I started to enjoy the characters and the ridiculous situations and dialogues. I appreciated that prior to ending the book, that there was a significant lapse in time. Most books seem to take a week and then all of the problems are magically fixed. I ended up loving how this ended and how all of the characters seemed to transform and grow.
Overall, it ended up being a really fun read once I got over the few issues I did have with the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dial Press/Randomhouse for access to the e-galley.

I always enjoy a Sophie Kinsella but this may have been her best one yet! A beautiful cast of supporting characters, and while it was a romance it didn’t follow the typical path to an ending! Will read again
I'm still trying to process how I feel about this book.
See here I'd the thing, the first 1/3 of this book was amazing, it was a 5/5, funny, laugh out loud moments, flirty, and all around fluff, just what I was looking for in a romcom.
But after that, it felt like I wasn't even reading the same book anymore. It took a drastic turn, and the longer I read, I started to hate the main character, she wasn't acting like the character I fell in love with prior, there were weirdly placed arguements starting between the couple that gave me second hand embarrassment.
Also this book relies heavily upon the Miscommunication troup, which got me unreasonably irritated.
Aside from that our MC, after 1/3 of the book gains a "Not Like Other Girls" mentality calling all her furniture "Rescue furniture." Because she would get them from hand-me-down stores, and calling her house that was literally falling apart "Quirky." On more than one occasion!
None the less I have this book a 2.5/5 I really liked the first 1/3 and I wish we kept with that throughout the book, but I guess the author had other ideas.

2.5 ⭐️ Love Sophie Kinsella but this wasn’t my fave
The beginning was a bit of a challenge for me to get through as I had trouble connecting with the main character. Upon finishing the story, I think that was intentional. By the second half I was really flying through the book as my enthusiasm grew.
A great romcom worthy of Kinsella's early amazing stand-alones ([b:The Undomestic Goddess|33722|The Undomestic Goddess|Sophie Kinsella|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1546431135l/33722._SY75_.jpg|2914], [b:Can You Keep a Secret?|33724|Can You Keep a Secret?|Sophie Kinsella|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1330464293l/33724._SY75_.jpg|2888997], [b:Twenties Girl|6063187|Twenties Girl|Sophie Kinsella|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1320544759l/6063187._SY75_.jpg|6239469]).
This was cute but kind of hard to pretend that it was realistic that two people in their thirties couldn’t make a relationship work because they didn’t like the same art or taste in furniture.
Cute romantic story
Funny and romantic, girl meets boy. What could possibly go wrong? Something for when you don’t want to study what you are reading.
