I love Sophie Kinsella and have read all her stand alone books (I haven’t read all of the Shopaholic series but most of it). So I know what to look for in a SK book - funny LOL moments, quirky heroine who sticks to her guns even if there’s tons of pit stops and detours along the way.
When Dutch and Aria meet in Italy at an incognito retreat, they fall in love almost instantly. Everything is magical. Once they return home and back to their real worlds the magic dissappears, but there still have glimpses of the the things that made them fall in love. Will their new life survive the real world and all of the things that come along with it?
This was a cute book that makes you realize that everyone's not perfect and that you have to accept the difference in people and try to grow together from there.

I’ve sworn I won’t cry, but tears are brimming in my eyes as I gaze at his bright, intelligent face. My Harold. Best beagle in the world. Best dog in the world. Best person in the world.

But I’m always trying to expand my horizons. If you ask me, life’s too short not to expand your horizons. You should always be thinking: This is OK…but what else could I be doing?
************************************************
The thing about friends is, they’re very helpful, but they’re almost too helpful.

Silence is great. It’s peaceful. It’s something we all need in this hectic modern life, silence.
************************************************
It’s uncivilized. Nothing in life should involve rushing off somewhere at 6:30 A.M.
************************************************
The trouble is, there’s life to deal with too. Actual life.
************************************************
It’s a bit like having a pet. But if you want a pet, have a dog. A dog.

I enjoy this author; her stories are light hearted and her characters are charmingly quirky. This one was not her best, but it was still a good summer read.
