I absolutely loved the gone series and was so excited when Michael Grant released a new series for outside the dome.
I thought the ending was amazing and leaves fans to think about how they wanted the vote to go.
Am very sad to have finished the entire series as I know there's no more.

This was better than Villain, but the ending wasn’t good. The constant recaps of characters and happenings from both the Gone series and the previous two books in the Monster series were obnoxious.
Grant’s interweaving of current events on a lot of topics was what gave this book the third star.
I had such high hopes for this trilogy after reading Monster, which was fantastic, and Grant really didn’t do the characters, both good and evil, justice going forward. Disappointed to say the least.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I absolutely hated this spin-off trilogy and am so glad it’s finally come to an end. There were way too many new characters to constantly keep track of the changing perspectives and I only stayed on to see what would become of the originals.
The ending was also the most extremely unsatisfying plot twist ever.

Not quite what I expected. I still had a hard time getting into the new characters (I'm not sure Shade Darby is supposed to be likable). But, we have enough of my older favorite characters to make this book a fast and enjoyable read.
I just really like Michael Grant's writing and humor...even in all the darkness.

The Rockborn Gang have been asked to take down yet another villain turned mutant by the Rockborn. This time, life, death and the battle for humanity lie in the balance. Now characters new and old have to come to try and save the world and find the true meaning of what it means to be a hero. This was a fast-paced novel and was definitely a step above the previous book. This novel felt like it had more grit and substance to it than the ones before it. The plot was good, it left the reader invested enough to want to keep going. Add in the fact that Grant brought back characters from the original Gone series to give them a sort of send-off, which was nice to see. The way this ended wasn’t exactly what the reader had envisioned. The opened-ended conclusion kinda made the spin-off feel like it was for nothing, like Grant brought back everyone just so the reader could imagine their own ending. The reader can see how that might make readers happy, but it just left more questions and made it feel like this world will never have a satisfying ending. There was a lot of action, which made it thrilling to read, and there were new characters for one last take down. The new characters were a good addition, and another way for Grant to tell the readers how diverse his cast was, which is great that they are, but the reader doesn’t need to be hit over the head with it. Overall, this spin-off trilogy was a bit of a bumpy ride and didn’t really feel like it gave true closure to the characters.
The ending... *BIG SMH* That is some major plot twist right there and it sure does frustrate THE HELL OUT OF ME. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed the Gone series although it took a longer time for me to finish it.
It is truly great to meet these characters and also the original characters again with their amazing and mind-blowing adventure! I know this is a trilogy, but I NEED MORE because I can’t move on from the world
