Resting Beach Face is the final book in the Swallow Cove series, finally giving us Declan and Cash’s story.
Throughout the series, we’ve seen Cash shamelessly flirt with Declan, making his feelings obvious to anyone paying attention, while Declan always seemed completely unaffected. But as this book shows, there’s a lot more going on beneath the surface for both of them.
Watching their relationship progress from friends to lovers, while slowly getting to know each other, was such a joy. That slow build-up allowed them to form strong foundations of trust and respect.
I also loved that we get to see a different side of Cash. In previous books, he was portrayed as a carefree flirt and f*ckboy, but here we get to see his softer, more thoughtful side. We see how deeply he cares not just about Declan, but also his sister (and his mother). I loved how Cash cared and was attentive with Declan by always checking in and making sure he’s comfortable.
At the same time, I loved Declan’s steady and quiet support for Cash. It showed just how well they balance each other out. It makes their connection feel real and earned.
Also, Declan’s journey as a grey Ace was beautifully handled. The story does a great job showing that being on the asexual spectrum doesn’t mean missing out on love or intimacy. Declan’s self-acceptance and healing was really handled with care and authenticity, and it was a beautiful exploration and representation of his identity as grey ace.
As a series finale, the book ties up loose ends in a satisfying way while also introducing us to a character who will lead the next series. And I think it’s a great way of giving us something to look forward while wrapping up Swallow Cove series on a perfect, happy note.
I received a copy of this book from Neon Rainbow Reviews, and this is my unbiased review.

And so we say bye bye to Swallow Cove.
This was a great book to end the series with. I've been rooting for Cash and Declan since the start, and they finally got their hard-fought HEA.
I loved that grumpy and closed off Declan finally let himself be vulnerable, and open up to Cash. And that Cash showed Declan the true him, that isn't just a flirt and no substance.
I loved these two together. Less spice than other books and that's due to Dec's graysexuality, but the few spicy bits were done amazingly.

DJ Jamison closed out the Swallow Cove series beautifully! Cash and Declan are absolutely beautiful! Their story is just way to sweet. You can't help but love Cash throughout the series but getting to see Declan open up and accept not only himself but others was so heartwarming! Such a great book and I devoured it in a night.
