Loved it! Amazing easy read!

Actually hate when romance books end with accidental pregnancy it’s so annoying to me

I really enjoyed this book. Great spice, great storytelling, great cast of characters. The plot was engaging without having too much angst. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this.

The book follows an enemies to lovers couple throughout their collegiate athletic season. A very good read, a few spicy scenes. Overall good character arcs and development, good story over all. It does end kind of abruptly though.

I finished this within 24 hours. It was quite good. BUT GOD some bits annoyed me

Nate and Anastasia are such a cute couple. Nate is a sweetheart and has all the right intentions and all the characters were amazing (apart from a certain someone who we all know)

I have endless love for Henry and I am excited to see Russ’ story pan out next (at least I think it’s the same russ)

ALTHOUGH… I do have problems with just how many characters were introduced. My brain had a hard time keeping up AND… I did feel like Anastasia went from ooo no thank you I don’t like commitment to hi Nate very fast

Nate also fell hard. Very hard. A little too hard? There was little to no buildup in actual relationship other than sexual which is a pet peeve of mine - it got better but not massively so

The ending was abrupt and also - what happened to Nate’s game as soon as he rushed off to Anastasia’s competition  - adding the Aaron kiss felt unnecessary as he’s never really had any romantic jealousy over Anastasia - but the ending was definitely rushed.

Some people are saying this was too long but it wasn’t too bad, worth a read if you like hockey romances!

BUT what I did hate was the pregnancy at the end. Both young promising athletes getting pregnant?! Especially when Anastasia is a figure skater and has has multiple examples from skater friends not to get pregnant, especially if she wants a career out of it - you can’t expect me to believe that she was so invested in her skating career she endured the abuse of her skating partner and the pressure of everything just to have one olympics. Like really?

Also not every HEA has to end in a baby! Not all relationships have babies and it frustrates me to no end.

Would however. LOVE. For a Henry and Gen story.

This was worth the £3 I spent on the kindle edition but reading all the other reviews has got me feeling like liking this is a crime lol - what can I say, a caring hockey Male MC and I’m all for it I guess 🫢🫢

TLDR; first part of book was great, ending and epilogue was messy and didn’t fit the vibe but that was literally the last 30%

3.5/5 - this book started out perfect and progressively ruined itself. at first i couldn’t put it down and i was so happy to finally have a 5 star read again BUT NO IT JUST HAD TO DRAG AND DRAG AND DRAG!!!!!! I’M MAD :(

1- WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO GET PREGNANT AND MARRY ETCETC, IT’S SO CLICHÉ AND WAS UNCALLED FOR IN THIS STORYLINE
2- THE BOOK IS TOOOOO LONG BUT SOMEHOW THE ENDING FEELS SO RUSHED?? SHE JUST GOES AND BECOMES A SOLO SKATER AND WINS THE GOLD AT OLYMPICS???? WHAT
3- i wish it focused more on figure skating… there are only a handful of books where the mc is a figure skater so i was looking forward to be in that competitive world, get to know other figure skaters she’s competing against but sadly figure skating parts are not in detail
4-the uber scene? i don’t understand the logistics, while i was reading that part and trying to imagine the scenario, it just made 0 sense. if stass is on nate’s lap because there’s nowhere else to sit, how come no one else is sitting on the back with them? eh i don’t know

the last topic i want to touch on is, there are 2 versions of this book:
one with a muslim character called sabrina (brin) and one with a red headed white non muslim character called lola, they’re both the same characters. i was switching between audiobook and reading (mostly read and my book had the sabrina version) and i was so confused who lola was so i thought it must be a nickname for sabrina and i missed the context or something. i saw some people were mad that sabrina (muslim version of the character) was partying and drinking, but i live in an islamic country and most muslim people i know do drink and party so that’s not a mistake on the author’s part.

that’s all, that’s the review, i want to sleep after reading that ending even though it’s only 3pm, bye bye

Most adult college romance I've read in a while. I love the characters. The spice is next level. The story climax is a bit dry but I might be reading too many dark romances that influenced my thoughts.
