Koch is a great at creating characters. They are not necessarily likable, but extremely compelling. There is a humor in the writing, often related to insights into everyday life or a character's thoughts. I really enjoyed this book, but it was not as hard-hitting as "The Dinner" (which I rated 4). I also thought this novel became a bit farfetched, so it's more of a 3.5 star.
Vlot geschreven, maar mist diepgang en hoofdpersonen maken rare keuzes.
It too me so long to finish this book because of kids, not because of lack of interest. Just like the Dinner, this one did not disappoint with the creepiness of the story and who did it kind of story. Also really didn't like the narrator, he was a little despicable, but yet, he was a great and loving father.
