I just couldn't finish it. I was less than halfway through and thought "why am I wasting my hours reading this??" I flipped to the end and deleted off the kindle. I think it is his writing style coupled with characters who simply do not appeal.

De eerste vijftig bladzijden zijn super, daarna blijft het goed, maar kabbelt het naar mijn smaak net iets te vaak.
Lekker lezen, maar niet bijzonder aan te raden voor iemand.
This was not a light read. The style was reminiscent of some of Beckett’s darker writing. Which there’s a time and place for, but I picked it up as a book to distract my brian. Dark and heavy but awesome if you like that!
This was one of the strangest books I've read. The author, at times, is very intriguing and humorous which makes you want to continue to read and then there are time when you ask yourself.... what is going on? The entire story definitely has it's peaks and valleys, I continued to stick with it and read it to the end (as I was curious) but looking back... I should have stopped when I began to question what it is he was talking about :/

This was a strange book, almost ominous and threatening but also somewhat funny.
There is no doubt that a man wrote this book, and the narrator is pretty gross and misogynistic at times. He is a doctor with a burning desire to start an affair with one of his clients, and they begin a friendship that proves to be even more dangerous as the summer progresses.
But, I also found it to be entertaining and intriguing.

The narrator embraces the fact that his inner self is unlikable, but he is in good company. The story presentation is interesting. There were a several annoying loose ends that left me wondering where the rest of the book was at conclusion.
