That was some ride! What a journey this books takes the reader on! Wow such a talented Author and it is very hard to believe this is her debut novel! I need a few days to gather my thoughts before I can even try and do justice to a review. For now all I will say is run run run to read and don’t miss out on this rollercoaster of a book! ✨✨✨✨.✨

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This is one of the most unique dark fantasies I've ever read. This author did amazing character work, incredible world building, and devastating me when I realized book 2 isn't out yet. This book is so good and perfect for a fall read. But honestly great any time of the year. Please read this book!
Things I loved:
-The magic/power system was so cool. A ring that helps you bond with a spirit and then you can tap into their power to do a number of things? Absolutely sick.
-The relationship/dynamics between the main character and her family. It reminded me of Serpent and the Wings of Night but significantly darker.
-The politics were so good. I loved the power struggles between everyone.
-The layers of the world: different kingdoms, different planes of existence, and gods.
-The romance is every much what you want in a slow burn. I loved how their relationship grew and how they looked at each other differently as the story progressed.
-The storytelling elements reminded me a lot of One Dark Window. Part of the lore and world building was done through journal entries and a book within the book about a prophecy.
Things I didn't love:
NONE! See above.
FYI: at the time I'm writing this the book is only available as an ebook/on KU. The author is being considered for trad publishing so she stopped printing physical copies.

Wow…I don’t even know if I can describe just how much I enjoyed Vesselless. I really enjoyed the setting and overall world building, and I loved the magic system with the rings being used to bond with spirits. I was drawn in from the very first page.
Nizzara is an interesting character. Her relationship with her family is complicated, to say the least. I thought her internal struggle with her feelings about her family was well done. Dae was the true shining star for me though. I really loved his character, particularly during his POV chapters. His banter with Nizzara was fun and had me giggling and kicking my feet. It was also great being able to see how he acts away from Nizzara.
I also really liked the inclusion of the diary entries at the beginning of Nizzara’s chapters. They were a fun way to add to the world without feeling like an info dump, while also giving us some insight into Dae’s life before. I found myself looking forward to the next entry as I read.
Anyway, I’m going to need the next book immediately. I’m going to be thinking about that ending for a hot minute.
