This is not a bad book at all and it was in fact an enjoyable read, but it's a bit generic if you know what I mean? Like, things fell into place and the hate-to-love relationship isn't hateful at all. I don't know why I always fall for this, the hate-to-love is almost never there and I'm left disappointed but not surprised. For once I wish the characters actually hated each other instead of the bickering borderline flirting that happens.

And with this book in particular, something that bothered me is how Olive went from "hating" Ethan over a misunderstanding on her part and spending years holding this grudge, to later in the book forgive him kinda easily for something he clearly did wrong and she was 100% justified in not forgiving him for or forgiving him but not getting back with him. That was a big let down to me, especially considering the set-up to that. But of course this is a romance, there's no point in ending it with "and she did forgave him later but could not trust him anymore so decided to not get back with him and lived happily ever after"... Oh well, maybe I'll find this book one day.

I absolutely loved this! I am always here for a good rom-com and was drawn in from the very first page. The banter between Olive and Ethan was so perfect and there were so many moments when I actually laughed out loud, which I love. This felt like watching a Hallmark movie and was perfect for a light December read. The only reason I didnโ€™t give it 5 stars is because there were moments when both Olive and Ethan annoyed me and I was just like โ€œ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„โ€ but overall I truly loved this one.

Love the MC, love interest is a bit boring but he loves her. Didn't like some of the characterization inconsistencies later in the book. Overall, easy and fun read.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren is fun enemies to lovers story with lucky Ami marrying her dream man Dane and her unlucky identical twin sister Olive, as maid of honour in a truly hideous green dress, needing to play nice with Ethan, brother of the soon to be husband.

Unfortunately Ami and Dane experience the worst of bad luck at their wedding reception when everyone, apart from Olive and Ethan, come down with violent food poisoning! Cue a comedy of errors when Olive is forced to fly to Hawaii for the holiday of a lifetime with her nemesis...

It was a cute read over a weekend when the clocks changed and I could curl up in bed and enjoy a book where I did not need to think too much at all! It was filled to the brim with everything you would expect from a story of two people who start as enemies and end up in bed together!

Fun, lighthearted palette cleanser. Reads like a fanfiction to me. Very minor smut scenes (~2), but not spicy.

Had fun with this one! Was a quick, rom com type of read, but in general really like the authorโ€™s voice. Was a bit cheesy and trope-y at times, but found myself really immersed.

As my first foray into Christina Lauren, I'd consider this a success! Not immediately a new favorite, but I wouldn't shy away from any of their other books.

I was mainly impressed that the heat level suited my tastes nearly exactly; not closed door, but just a couple sentences, without much detail. The final act (and the "Olive working on herself") portion dragged on a bit too long for me, and I lost a little faith in Ethan. But I did like how well-rounded all the characters were and it was overall a decent little romance story.

Do not be misled by the fact I finished this book in two days. I was not a fan. The characters felt very one dimensional and there wasn't anything organic about the relationship or events occuring. The first half made me cringe with awkwardness and the second half left me frustrated. I skimmed the epilogue because I wanted to be done. I will admit though, it made me laugh out loud from time to time in between the bad moments, and that was the most redeeming part of the story. I don't plan to read book 2
