I enjoyed this one!!! I missed reading Solo books with great plots! I loved the adventures, the witty banter, and the little moments and jokes that came back in sweet moments that felt like sharing a secret with Ethan and Olive. I had a few differences with this book, and I will give a glimpse into how I thought from my notes 65% in Vs. the end:

65%: I was a little anxious because I felt the character's lack of communication was a little repelling, and that was before the drop of five chapters full of sad struggles. I found Olive funny, but for a scientist, she seemed dumb up to that point. I am a woman, and I overthink too, but it's really challenging because of all the tidbits of thinking Ethan feels some other way; even though we were reading this story from her perspective, I understood Ethan's words, actions, and decisions much better than Olives. That's not new; I naturally understand the male perspective in most cases, especially regarding relationships. However, that does not extend to people like Dean; I am the only woman who will never be able to justify what he did. I was still curious about this book and have enjoyed it from this; all the same, hoping the end will be good and resolved well.

By the end: Yes, it did end well!!! It ended beautifully between the two, it was not perfect like a movie, but it was perfect for them and this book. I was shocked at the downers that came left and right in this story, but there was an element of hope Olive did not see before despite those things, which was wonderful. I loved how they gave justice to the end cycle of disbelief and stereotypes; at that moment, it became less about a character and more about the issues they went through. I am even more thrilled at finally seeing the character arch and growth between everyone! It had a beautiful last chapter and an even better epilogue. I would love to read this again one day, and I would definitely recommend this to romantic comedy lovers who enjoy travel, adventure, sweet moments, awkward moments, and love that wins in the end.

This book had so many wonderful things, seamless transitions, witty banter, adventure, enemies to lovers, and a one-bed trope.  There were so many fantastic moments, and I laughed so hard so many times; I was on my little stairway, finding a spot with lights in many directions so that if someone turned one or two lights off, I would still be able to read. I would gasp, cackle (yes, this book made me cackle,) nearly cry, jk, but my family would come over, double take, point fun, and they would debate who died in the book based on what I told them about it. XD Spoiler: no one dies. I would highly recommend this book because it is not only popular for a reason, but it is also one of the few rom-com books I have been introduced to this year because of its popularity, and it is worth it!!! I did not realize how much I needed such a lighthearted and funny read; it was a wonderful change of pace!

Olive and Amy are identical twins, but they couldn't be more different. Olive is unlucky in love, career... well, everything. Amy seems to be the luckiest person alive. Now she's marrying her perfect fiancé and she's managed to finance her dream wedding through different contests online. But when everyone at the wedding reception get food poisoning Olive doesn't. Neither does Ethan, the groom's brother and Olive's nemesis. Since the wedding trip can't be rescheduled Olive and Ethan are convinced to take the trip instead of the newlyweds. Spending 10 days on Hawaii could be worth it, right? It's not like they have to spend all their time together...

Of course things happen that make Olive and Ethan have to pretend a lot more than they initially thought, and it's fun to follow their banter and acting! They really get to know each other and find that their mutual dislike is mostly based on misunderstandings. Sometimes things get very akward and cringeworthy, and I want to pause the audiobook. If I've read the physical book I could have skimmed over those parts, but now I had to "suffer through"!

Olive really grows as a character. She does some soul-searching, which isn't easy. She also follows her gut at a time when neither Amy nor Ethan believe in what she's saying. This makes the book more than just a fluffy rom-com; it has some serious topics too. I don't love "The UnHoneymooners" as much as I did "Love and Other Words", but it was definitely worth my time and I want to read more by this author duo in the future!

10/10. This book has instantly become one of my top 5 favorite romcoms. It gives such an early 2000s movie romcom feel (think 27 Dresses, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and 10 Things I Hate About You) with all of the animosity, sexual tension, and wacky antics. I love the "I hate you but actually we were perfect for each other all along" trope and man does this book deliver. This book made me laugh, cackle, giggle, cry, and scream - the concoction that creates a perfect book to me. It definitely gives soulmates vibes. Highly recommend.
