I read this because I do love the first season of True Blood and it was wonderful! And the show did a great job sticking decently well to the plot (except maybe Bill Compton’s casting, but it’s fine)

Was likable, enjoyed it, but ran out of time before free expired. Hope to finish.

After the invent of synthetic blood vampires "come out" into mainstream culture. Told from the perspective of Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic cocktail waitress living in rural Louisiana.

After watching episode I of the HBO series "True Blood" I was so enthralled in the storyline I just had to pick up the book it's based on. So far so good, It's an easy read that's hard to put down (which is why I went to bed at 1:30 AM last night). I can't wait to read more at lunch today.

It's got a little bit of everything for everyone. I especially like the way that the author projects southern living. Too often southerners are portrayed as one of two stereotypes, white trash or southern belles/gentlemen. Harris goes beyond this by creating characters of substance and depth who are easily relatable.

i had a hard time getting into this series in the begining but i read these with my mom and sister which was fun.

It's an easy read, some parts are super cringe like the smut is super cringy. Sookie is just not a main character I feel like most women would relate to. It helped a little bit realizing this was written in the early 2000s I feel like alot of vampire cringe was happening back then. If I want another easy read might read the next one. It wasn't a complete waste of time. Realized now that this was what led to the true blood and seeing others say that show is great I might watch it. It's kind of like "the vampire diaries" books were eh but the show was amazing.
