This is my new favourite book. An absolutely beautiful story, and really a life-changing novel. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys coming-of-age stories that make you reevaluate your life and grow a new outlook on everyday. This book surrounds the theme of self discovery and understanding who you are and why you exist. Anyone who struggles with this will likely find this book inspiring.

English:
Aristotle Mendoza is a 15-year-old mexican-american boy who feels like chaos inside. Between a father who also seems to have a tangle of emotions inside him, two distant sisters, and a brother in prison, Aristotle is in a state of alienation. One day he meets Dante Quintana, another boy his age who the complete opposite of him, and when they interactions begin, they will begin a process of introspection in their lives, where they will embark on a path of self-discovery.

If you want to read a light coming-of-age story about the daily life of a confused teenager, written in simple but powerful prose, this is your book. Reading the plot makes it seem like a dense book, but it's quite the opposite, it's narrated in a way that makes it digestible for any audience. In my opinion, I consider that a person over 15 can read it -considering the trigger warnings-, and I even think that it can perfectly help teenagers to process their own emotions through the characters. Although I have to say that, in my personal experience, an adult can understand the book better and enjoy it even more.

Now, in the considerations to take, I have to say that although it's a good book with a good LGBTQ+ message, there are people who consider that the subject of gender identity and transphobia could be better addressed. I could not give my opinion on the matter without spoilers, so I will limit myself to saying that it isn't a book that promotes transphobia as something acceptable, quite the opposite actually. For those who may be distressed by that, you all don't have to worry, i rather think that the observation of people focuses on the fact that it was a topic that was briefly mentioned and was not given the necessary space, but my hypothesis is that it was because there were still many things to solve. I actually think that the sequel will definitely have more of that topic, much better explained.

In conclusion, a highly recommended reading. Definitely one of my favorite books.

This book was beautiful and it described the transition to adulthood in a very realistic way. The discussions around identity and friendship were interesting and the characters were very loveable. It's an LGBTQ+ book that is not filled with lots of cliches but instead explores mIm relationship with fresh eyes. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole read
