This book is one of my favorite books of all time! I love it so so much, and it means a lot to me particularly since it was the first book I read with queer & Latinx characters. I, as a Colombian-American teenager, identify so much with both Ari and Dante and how they talk about their Mexican-American identities. Their exploration and discovery of their queer identities also meant to much to me as I read it at multiple points of my own discovery process.

The writing itself is absolutely gorgeous. There is such a poetic nature to the writing style which makes this book so quotable. The way friendship and love are described is beautiful. This book is the perfect summer coming of age book and it just happens to be queer and Latinx too!
