The story was pretty good, but the language ... Oh dear, thou shalt be prepar'd. It comes across as forced and unnatural.

A good book, parts were slow but overall not a bad read

I was afraid it was going to be too predictable so I actually just stopped reading.

Once I got used to the thees and thous and prithees, I just had to keep reading this very likely chain of events in our country's beginnings. I could see where the tale as headed, but couldn't figure how it would get there until it was happening. The questions of good and evil, justice and cruelty can never completely be resolved when it seems to be human nature to twist the facts to suit the situation

Not my normal read, but this was wonderful. Compelling from start to finish.

Not exactly a thriller. I’ve read a lot of revisitations of Puritan times, and I wish this brought something new to the table.
