Continues from the excellent first volume ([b:Welcome to Lovecraft|3217221|Locke & Key, Vol. 1 Welcome to Lovecraft (Hardcover)|Joe Hill|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51veWQRX2wL._SL75_.jpg|3251160]) with a sophomore effort that’s equally imaginative and exciting. I shall be needing volume three immediately, kthx.

I know I said that if this volume didn't get better I wasn't going to read any more of the series, but I really just want to know what the plot twist is going to be. It still isn't my cup of tea comic-wise. I think it's a little too gruesome for my tastes. Other than the mystery of why certain characters were put in certain places and why others died, there isn't really anything keeping me reading. I'm not a big fan of the characters. The villain is just a really terrible person and without knowing a motive I just get more annoyed at them getting away with all the horrific crimes they do. The only other thing I can say is at least they're quick reads. And the kid Dode is cute (while also being very annoying).

I really enjoy the art and I am so confused. I don't understand the gym teacher and the dude situation but they're a girl. But she started in a jar? When did her mother come into the story? Was that a flashback? This is what I mean by chapters happen but there's so much jumping I can't follow it. There's no indication of where or when we are in the timeline.
